H2e Waste Water Treatment System

Introducing Ekogea’s H2e Waste Water Treatment System, a revolutionary solution that utilizes the natural power of our organic BioComplex. This system effectively cleans waste water outputs from various industries while adhering to high environmental standards. With a natural and organic, chemical-free treatment process, operates as a gravity-fed system that requires no energy input. Enjoy noiseless and odourless operation, low running costs, and high-speed treatment, allowing for immediate discharge or re-use across a wide range of waste water types.

How BioComplex-Dosed H2e System Works

Discover the power of our BioComplex range, derived from Ascophyllum Nodosum, commonly known as Norwegian Kelp. Sourced from sustainably farmed operations in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, our unique extraction process maximizes the concentration of essential compounds like Polyuronic Acids and Oligosaccharides. These components not only foster a thriving prebiotic environment for beneficial microbes but also enhance oxygen loading in wastewater by reducing tension.

The result is a high quality water cleaning potential without the use of additional chemical treatments.

GRAVITY FED SYSTEM REQUIRES NO EXTERNAL ENERGY INPUT

Ekogea’s H2e Waste-Water Treatment System is a gravity fed process, requiring no additional energy inputs.

The system works across an interlinking series of channels filled with cristobalite, a naturally occuring, porous, volcanic rock used as a biofilter media. This has a large surface area in proportion to its size, giving the microbes the perfect environment to populate and do their work.

The grey-water is dosed with Ekogea’s BioComplex and enters at the top of the system. It then feeds through the series of channels with the treatment, with the BioComplex allowing the microbial population to feed upon upon the sludge as a nutrient through a biochemical process of hydrolysis and biological ion exchange. This occurs on the surface of each and every cristobalite crystal. By the end of the run through the channels, the microbial activity has stripped the water of its pollutants.

Ekogea engineers will be on hand at the design stage in order to ensure that the system is of the right length and the BioComplex dosing rate is sufficient to deal with any wastewater input.

Operational Benefits include:

NOISELESS AND ODOURLESS

The microbial activity that strips the waste-water of its pollutants reduces those pollutants into stable, non-volatile compounds. This means that there are no greenhouse gas or toxic emissions from the system. This not only satisfies environmental regulations, but also creates a safer, more enjoyable working environment for site operators.

LOW OPERATIONAL RUNNING COSTS

The decentralised system contains no moving parts, pumps or the use of any activated sludge. Not only does that mean the system works without producing any noise pollution, it also means that there is no need for costly, regular servicing. The system is self regulating and actually improves in efficiency the longer it is left to build the positive microbial environment, only producing a small amount of sand-like, inert, mineralised sediment that may require emptying by operators every few years with normal use.

The installation of the system is quick and easy, and requires no expensive components. It can also be installed underground in order to protect local or natural landscapes.

HIGH SPEED TREATMENT FOR IMMEDIATE DISCHARGE OR RE-USE

Ekogea’s H2e Waste-Water Treatment System can process gre-water in as little as 6 hours (for residential applications), producing ‘polished water’ for re-use for all water needs excluding drinking water.

Agricultural and industrial wastewater can be re-used for functions such as cleaning, irrigation, or watering feedstocks in anaerobic digestion. Alternatively it is clean enough to be released into water courses under permit from the local environmental authority. The treatment capacity for residential and municipal wastewater currently exceeds European Standards, allowing for immediate discharge into sewers.

Reduction of both COD and BOD

The H2e system has wide reaching applications for agricultural and industrial wastewater, notably as an add-on to Ekogea’s Farm Slurry Management System and innovative back-end solutions for Anaerobic Digestion. Both processes involve the de-watering of either slurry or digestate, with that extracted grey-water passing through the H2e system to remove polluting compounds including ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, TSS (Total Suspended Solids), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand).

This removes potential pollution and leaching into water courses and land. The treated water can be re-used by the farm or industrial plant, or released directly into sewers or water courses under permit.

REMOVING FATS, GREASE, CHEMICAL POLLUTANTS

The activated BioComplex ingredient creates the conditions that can strip out all pollutants from residential and municipal wastewater including fats, grease, domestic chemical cleaners, antibiotics, pesticides, phenols, chromium, cyanide, acids, green algae, and petroleum products. These compounds are broken down by microbial activity such that the system can continue to function and thrive without the need for regular removal or servicing of extracted waste.
